This special edition will feature the esteemed Hetty Johnston, renowned advocate for social responsibility, founder of the Bravehearts Foundation and a passionate voice for young people. 

Hetty Johnston, a distinguished figure in the field of social advocacy, will share her insights and experiences in championing the rights and well-being of young individuals. Gain valuable perspectives on the role businesses play in fostering social responsibility and supporting the next generation.

Hetty Johnston BIO - 

Hetty Johnston AM founded Bravehearts Foundation Ltd in 1997 cementing her position as one of Australia’s leading child protection advocates and consultants. Hetty was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in 2014 for her services to the community through a range of organisations that promote welfare and the rights of children. 

In 2015, Hetty was recognised as Queensland’s Australian of the Year for her ongoing work in highlighting the issues of child sexual assault and exploitation, both nationally and internationally. 

Her list of awards and accolades is vast including recognition of her Entrepreneurial and Business achievements with her induction to Executive Women Australia 2023, Australian Businesswomen’s Hall of Fame in 2016 and being named by Financial Review & Westpac top 100 Women of Influence. 

Her voluminous advocacy achievements have also been acknowledged through various prestigious awards including the receipt of two National Australian Lawyers Alliance Civil Justice Awards. 

Hetty acted as a Safeguarding advisor to the 2018 Commonwealth Games, is currently the Co-Chair of the National Office for Child Safety – National Strategy Advisory Group and sits on the Qld Child and Family Commission Expert Advisory Council. 

Recently, Hetty has created Safeguarding People Australia and now uses her 30 years’ experience to help organisations protect children and vulnerable adults.
